Running A Bookkeeping Business From Home Is An Amazing Idea

Are you someone who is looking for a way to start your own business? Are you interested in bookkeeping? If so, then running a bookkeeping business from home is an amazing idea!

There are many benefits to running your business this way, including flexibility and freedom. Plus, you won’t have to worry about investing a lot of money into setting up your business because bookkeeping has some of the lowest start-up costs involved when compared to almost any other business around.  In addition to that, many of the costs can be pushed back until the time that is absolutely necessary to add it.

Maybe you’re looking for a new challenge or want to quit your job altogether and work for yourself.  A bookkeeping business may be able to give you that freedom that you are searching for!

You Can Set Your Own Hours

As a bookkeeper, you can set your own hours and work as much or as little as you want. This flexibility is great for those who want to tailor their work schedule around their personal life or other commitments. And, since bookkeeping can be done remotely, it’s also perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to commute to an office every day.

To give you an idea of how much time you can expect to spend on your clients each month, an established client will take roughly 4 hours per month.  So, to keep our example plain and simple, if your goal is to work as a bookkeeper part-time (12 hours a week) you can take on 12 clients (3 clients each week spending 4 hours on each one).

What if you wanted to do this full-time?  To make sure that you had enough work to do this 40 hours a week you would need 40 clients (10 clients each week and 4 hours of work = 40 hours).  Keep in mind this is a very straightforward example since, in many cases, there are additional things that will need to be addressed as you work your bookkeeping business.

A quick example of this would be the additional time needed when you bring on a brand new client.  A lot of extra work will go into getting everything straightened up with brand new clients.  This could be because their previous bookkeeper didn’t know what they were doing or didn’t really care to begin with or they never had a bookkeeper, to begin with.

Realistically, 20-30 clients would probably give you full-time hours when all is said and done.

You Get To Be Your Own Boss

As a virtual bookkeeper, you are your own boss. You can set your own hours and work from anywhere in the world. This makes it an attractive option for many people who want to be their own boss and have more control over their career.

There are a few things to consider before becoming a bookkeeper though. First, you need to have experience in bookkeeping or find an excellent program to learn bookkeeping and marketing.  Even if you don’t know the first thing about bookkeeping, there are ways to start your education quickly to get you on that path to becoming your own boss.

Second, you need to be organized and have strong time management skills. Finally, you need to be comfortable working independently.  As nice as it is to work for yourself, there is no one to push you and keep you on the right path.  It is up to you and you alone to make sure that you are doing everything that needs to be done to be successful.

It is this very reason that many people fall short when they start their own businesses.  You have got to be able to push through those tough times even when you are feeling lost, defeated, or frustrated.

If you have the experience and skills required, becoming a virtual bookkeeper can be a great way to be your own boss and control your own career. Just be sure to weigh the pros and cons before making the decision to become one.  Stick around until the end and I’ll show you how you can evaluate yourself and determine if bookkeeping is the right path for you.

You Can Work From Home

As a bookkeeper, you have the flexibility to work from home. This can be a great perk, especially if you have young children or other family obligations that make it difficult to commute to an office every day. You can save money on gas and child care, and you’ll have more control over your schedule.

Of course, working from home isn’t for everyone. Some people find it difficult to stay focused and motivated when they’re not in an office environment. If you think you might struggle with working from home, be sure to talk to your potential employer about their expectations and whether they offer any flexibility in terms of where you work.

Overall, working from home as a bookkeeper can be a great way to have more control over your work-life balance. If you’re organized and self-motivated, it can be a great way to get the job done without having to commute or deal with office politics.

It’s A Great Way To Make Money On The Side

Virtual bookkeeping is a great way to make money on the side, as it can be done entirely online and from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a computer and an internet connection, and you can get started immediately.

There are a number of companies that offer virtual bookkeeping services, so you should have no trouble finding one that suits your needs. Once you have found a company, all you need to do is sign up and start providing your services.  Or, you can go that extra mile and start your own bookkeeping business!

Bookkeeping is a very important task for any business, so there is always a demand for qualified bookkeepers. By offering your services online, you can attract a wide range of clients from all over the world.

Remember when we were talking about the number of clients you would need to cover part-time and full-time hours?  How much could you make with those numbers of clients?

You may be surprised to learn that bookkeeping is actually the most profitable business that you could run.  In fact, it is very possible to earn, on average, $80 an hour!

Remember how we said that 12 clients would roughly give you 12 hours of work a week?  At $80 an hour, those 12 clients would provide you with a monthly income of $3,840 a month!  Remember, that is only working 12 hours a week!  Just for fun, those 40 clients that give you your full-time hours could bring in $12,800 a month!  Are you beginning to see the potential bookkeeping can have as a business model?

Bookkeeping Skills Can Be Applied To Other Areas Of Your Life

One of the great things about bookkeeping is that it can teach you a lot of useful skills that can be applied to other areas of your life. For example, bookkeeping can help you become better organized and more efficient, both at work and at home.

Bookkeeping can also help you develop your financial literacy. This means that you’ll be better equipped to make sound financial decisions, both in your personal life and in your business.

If you’re like me and are looking for a work-from-home career that’s both interesting and lucrative, running a bookkeeping business from home is an amazing idea. Not only will you have the freedom to work from home, but you can also set your own hours and rates.

And as long as you have a computer with internet access, you can do this job from anywhere in the world. Interested in learning more?
